Relationships are often difficult to navigate. EFT is a model of therapy that can facilitate a healthier and stronger connection in relationships. My goal is to offer a safe environment for clients to address challenges in life, such as problems in relationships, grief and loss, behavioral problems and child behavioral problems, and overcoming low self-esteem. I love helping people find what works for them. My approach is warm and genuine. I believe that people can overcome anything if they have the right tools. My aim is to help you find those tools and use them.
I have special training in evidence-based practices that deal with trauma (EMDR), relationships (EFT), grief and loss, childhood anxiety and behavioral issues (MAP and TF-CBT), and parenting(Triple P). I believe people have, within themselves, what it takes to make positive changes using therapy as a collaborative effort.
Navigating life can be difficult. Navigating relationships can be even more complicated. I have experience with members of the LDS church as well as those who are of other faiths. In addition, I have life experience that makes me uniquely qualified to help. Finding the model of therapy that works for you is key to success in counseling.

RENEE COLLINS, ACMHC
Therapist
Hi I’m Renee. I am passionate about helping individuals, couples and families work through trauma, using evidence-based models of treatment.
Life can be overwhelming, but I believe every person has incredible power within them to change for the better. My goal is to focus on both how the past shaped current struggles in my client’s lives, and also to give them practical strategies to use now, to improve their situation and mindsets. I work from an Internal Family Systems Therapy perspective, with a focus on Person-Centered and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I am also fully EMDR trained.
I have a special interest in working with individuals who have struggled with toxic and abusive relationships—those who might be in such relationships now, and those recovering from the after-effects. I also enjoy working with couples and teenagers. I specialize in sexual issues, in and out of relationships, depression and anxiety.
I have always been fascinated by people and relationships. My interests have led me to explore the human mind through writing, and I am the author of three published novels. Now, I channel that passion into my clients and discovering their stories. I want to hear yours!

Life is a roller-coaster: often challenging and sometimes overwhelming. However, I believe that
everyone can find their strength and their own path through trauma and difficult decisions. This
journey can be painful and difficult, as well as rewarding and liberating. I would like to be your
guide on this healing journey and support you in connecting with your own self, recognizing
your own needs, working on creating new boundaries, breaking cycles of unhealthy patterns, and
developing new healthy relationships. Attachment, resilience, coping skills, and regulation of
emotions are aspects that everyone develops in childhood to different degrees. I would like to
accompany you as you develop them in a healthy way.
As a multicultural therapist, I have deep knowledge and awareness of differences among
individuals. I have worked for years with children and families in France and the United States.
These experiences have shown me that one method may be a great fit for one person but not
necessarily for another one. I like to think of therapy as holistic and will work with different
techniques, including DBT, CBT, Family Systems therapy, play therapy, and Gestalt therapy to
meet your specific needs in your specific context.
I would love to collaborate with you as you find your way, far from the thoughts that don’t
define you and the behaviors that are not who you are. By connecting you with your emotions
and your inner world, I hope to guide you towards a loving awareness of who you are and bring
you peace.

Connection brings light to life. My desire to connect with others and grow that light is what guided me to become a therapist. I am in awe of the human spirit and what we are capable of achieving. Our ability to join with others on an emotional, mental, or spiritual level is living at its fullest and I will do my best to help others find that fullness. Though we are in contact with a myriad of people each day, truly connecting is not always an easy task. My focus is to aid in identifying the roadblocks in a relationship, finding the tools to assist, and helping to realign the stumbling blocks as stepping stones to possibilities. I enjoy working with people from all backgrounds and orientations. Love is love and all are worthy and deserving of it. My technique is compassionate and open to finding a unique path that works for you and your ideal view of health.
